Battle of Quebec

December 31, 1775

Colonial forces launch an assault on Quebec in the early hours, advancing through snow and narrow streets toward the city’s defenses. The attack breaks under heavy resistance, and the assault fails to carry the position.

The campaign has pushed north in an effort to bring Canada into the conflict and weaken British control. Harsh weather, difficult terrain, and divided columns complicate the attack as it unfolds.

The effort extends beyond the colonies, but does not take hold.
